Memory Complex 2

Memory Complex 2 was hosted by Lily Hyon in collaboration with Austin Clay Willis in his installation, Room Set at SVA Chelsea Gallery.

Returning Memory Complex Alumni were asked to revisit their first memory complex, taking note of what has been omitted and forgotten, what is new and what does not change.

Questions to ask yourself while drawing:

  • Why this space?
  • Is it a private or public space? Was it a shared space, and with whom?
  • The what and the where (e.g. furniture, lights, windows, doors, stairs and other significant objects)
  • Did any particular event happen at a specific part of this space?
  • How did you (or others) treat the space and the objects?
  • How does this space inform you (what does the space tell you about yourself)?
